Aga Khan University Women Leadership Academy in Pakistan Launches Second Cohort

The Aga Khan University Women Leadership Academy (WLA) in Pakistan has marked another milestone in its mission to empower women leaders across the nation with the successful launch of its second cohort. Amidst great anticipation and excitement, the launch event brought together 29 aspiring women leaders from diverse backgrounds and fields. From entrepreneurs to healthcare professionals, educators to researchers, the second cohort represents a dynamic group of individuals united by their passion for leadership and commitment to driving positive change in their communities.

Dr Anjum Halai, Vice Provost at the Aga Khan University warmly welcomed the new cohort, providing them with an overview of the WLA programme. Sharing her personal journey and insights on leadership, Dr Halai’s keynote address not only offered invaluable guidance but also served as a wellspring of inspiration for the participants, igniting their ambition and determination to effect meaningful change.

The WLA Programme is designed to empower emerging female leaders across Civil society organizations and various industries by providing them with mentorship, guidance, and resources to enhance their leadership capabilities and professional growth. It emphasizes creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment where participants can learn from each other’s experiences, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections.

Throughout the programme, participants will have access to the Aga Khan University’s Lifelong Learning Education and Development of Skills (LEADS) virtual platform, which hosts the WLA’s comprehensive curriculum. This curriculum is meticulously crafted to enhance participants’ leadership skills, expand their knowledge base, and nurture their personal and professional growth. Through a blend of webinars, mentorship opportunities, and networking events, participants will acquire the tools and resources necessary to overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and lead with confidence and resilience.

As the cohort embarks on this transformative journey, they stand poised to become trailblazers in their respective fields, driving positive change and paving the way for future generations of women leaders in Pakistan and beyond.
